Terms of Service

By using freesend.io (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

freesend.io is a free file transfer service. You can upload files up to 100 GB and share them with others. Files are automatically deleted after 7 days. The Service is supported by advertising revenue.

2. Acceptable Use

You may not use freesend.io to upload, store, or distribute:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors
• Malware, viruses, or other malicious software
• Content that infringes intellectual property rights of third parties
• Content that is illegal under applicable law
• Content used for phishing, fraud, or social engineering attacks
• Spam or unsolicited bulk communications

3. Content Moderation

We use automated hash-matching (PhotoDNA / NCMEC) to detect known illegal content. We have a DMCA / DSA-compliant takedown process. You can report illegal content at abuse@freesend.io.

We operate under Safe Harbor provisions (EU DSA, US DMCA Section 512). We are not liable for user-uploaded content, but we will respond promptly to valid takedown requests.

4. Privacy

We store your sender email to send you a verification link and upload confirmation. It is automatically deleted after 7 days together with your transfer data. We additionally retain a one-way hash of your email for abuse prevention. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Service Availability

We provide the Service on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime. Files are deleted after 7 days — do not rely on freesend.io as a permanent storage solution.

6. Advertising

freesend.io is free to use. In exchange, senders and recipients watch a short video advertisement. Ad content is served by third-party networks and subject to their respective policies.

7. Limitation of Liability

freesend.io is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction is Hamburg, Germany, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
